The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd (LICR) is a global non-profit institute committed to improving the understanding and control of cancer through integrated laboratory and clinical discovery. Leveraging its worldwide network of investigators and the ability to sponsor and conduct its own clinical trials, the Institute is actively engaged in translating its discoveries into applications for human benefit.
LICR is overseen by a Board of Directors that has ultimate responsibility for the Institute. The Board-appointed Executive Officers and two of the three Administrative Offices - the Offices of Clinical Trials Management and Intellectual Property & Technology Licensing - are located at the Institute's head office in New York (NY, USA). The Institute's registered office is located in Zurich (Switzerland), and houses the Office of Budget & Finance. An external Scientific Advisory Committee advises the Scientific Director on formulating and implementing research strategy and programs.
The Institute has ten research Branches — two in Australia, Sweden and USA, and one in each of Belgium, Brazil, Switzerland and UK. LICR also engages a network of Affiliates, outstanding scientists and clinicians whose research complements that conducted in the branches, and multiple Clinical Trials Sites at which LICR-sponsored clinical trials are conducted.
The LICR Fund Inc is a 501(c)3 organization that exists solely to manage the LICR's endowment. US tax-deductible donations can be made to the LICR Fund to support the work of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd.
